世界の職人さんの手仕事 Craftsmanship from around the world
3月からフリーランスとして気持ちを新たにサロンワークを始め12日が経ちました。美容師の仕事をする為のインフラも整い、緊張で気が張っていた日々もやっとほぐれてきました。
It's been 12 days since I started working as a freelancer in March, and I've been revitalized with a fresh mindset. The infrastructure for my work as a beautician has also fallen into place, and the tension that accompanied the initial days is finally starting to ease.
プロダクトや道具は世界の美容室を訪れて体験した中で良いと思ったものを採用しています。
ヘッドスパのプロダクトはシンガポールのサロンで、ロシア人のヘッドスパニストさんに紹介してもらったイタリアのオーガニックブランドのもの。大人の頭皮別にオーガニックでアプローチしている点がとても新鮮でした。
刈り上げなどに使うクリッパーは製造業に強いドイツ製、器やトレイは日本の職人さんによって作られたもの。他にも白髪をブリーチで活かすお客様の為に導入した髪の補強剤は、アメリカのブランドのものです。
I adopt products and tools based on my experiences visiting beauty salons worldwide.
For the head spa, I use an Italian organic brand introduced to me by a Russian head spa specialist at a salon in Singapore. Its approach to organic care tailored to adult scalp needs was particularly refreshing.
The clippers used for fades and other styles are German-made, known for their strength in manufacturing. The utensils and trays are crafted by Japanese artisans. Additionally, the hair strengthening treatment introduced for clients looking to enhance gray hair through bleaching is from an American brand.
フランスの美容室を訪れて驚いた事は、一人一人の美容師さんがアーティストとしてヘアデザインに集中している事、そして成熟した大人の美容師さんが多かった事です。
東京では特に女性の美容師さんで50代以上の方をお見かけする機会が少なかったので、とても新鮮でした。こちらに載せている写真はあくまでほんの一部で、力強くお仕事されている大人の女性美容師さんをお見かけする機会が多く、非常にパワーをもらいました。
更に何と、いくつかのフランス系美容室で日本製のトリートメントが採用されていました。他の国の文化を体験する事で、日本のプロダクトの良さを改めて実感する事にもなりました。そちらも今のサロンで導入しています。
During my visits to beauty salons in France, what surprised me was the dedicated focus of each hairdresser as an artist in hair design, and the prevalence of mature professionals. In Tokyo, particularly among female hairdressers, it was rare to encounter individuals over the age of 50, making this experience quite refreshing. The photos shared here capture just a glimpse, but witnessing mature female hairdressers confidently and energetically at work was empowering and inspiring.
Moreover, to my amazement, some French salons were using Japanese-made treatments. Experiencing other cultures reaffirmed my appreciation for the excellence of Japanese products. I have also introduced them at my current salon.
最後に、サロンの商材や道具を入れるツールとして日本の職人さんのシェイカーボックスを採用しています。
無駄が無く洗練されたフォルムは眺めるだけで心が満たされます。一つ一つの木の目の模様が違う不均一さも愛おしい。
経済成長に伴い世界的に大量生産が行われてきたこれまでの歴史から、既に世の中に物は沢山あるように感じます。これからは心の充足感が生まれる物を生み出し、そこに対価が支払われる・・・その為にオーダーメイドの仕事は不可欠なのでは無いかと感じています。
Finally, as a tool for storing salon supplies and equipment, I have chosen a shaker box crafted by Japanese artisans.
Its refined and waste-free design fills the heart just by looking at it. The uniqueness of each wood grain pattern, with its charming irregularities, adds to its appeal.
With the global mass production that has occurred alongside the period of rapid economic growth, it seems that there is already an abundance of items in the world. Moving forward, it feels essential to create things that bring a sense of fulfillment to the heart, and where compensation is given for that... Therefore, I believe custom-made work is indispensable.
