サロンオープンの備忘録 Memorandum for Salon Opening

プライベートサロンのオープンまでいよいよ3週間を切り、現在内装工事が進行中です。

With less than three weeks until the opening of my private salon, the interior construction is currently underway.

こちらはサロンの骨組みの段階、物件決めの際に写真に収めたもの。

「自然光の柔らかい光」「（パーマの機械を入れた上で）物理的にも精神的にもゆとりを感じるスペース」を軸に14部屋の中から決めました。

選んだ部屋は窓からの眺めは広告や車通りが無く、都会ながらとても静かなスペース。

またお隣のホテルのビルのお陰で7Fでありながら間接的な日当たりで、柔らかく入る光が心地が良いです。

These are some photos taken during the early construction phase of the salon, captured when selecting the property.

I chose this room out of 14 options based on two main criteria: "soft natural light" and "a space that feels spacious both physically and mentally (even with perm machines installed)."

The selected room has a quiet ambiance with no advertisements or heavy traffic visible from the windows, despite being in the city.

Additionally, thanks to the neighboring hotel building, the room on the 7th floor receives indirect sunlight, allowing soft, pleasant light to fill the space.

物件が決まってからは、約3ヶ月程内装デザインに取り掛かります。

18㎡（5.5坪）の空間で、私とお客様の居心地を決める一番大事なフェーズです。

インテリアデザイナーの友人のワークショップに参加し、計3回、実技を交えながら空間デザインの黄金律を学びます。

After deciding on the property, I spent about three months working on the interior design.

In an 18㎡ space, this is the most crucial phase to determine the comfort for both my clients and myself.

I participated in workshops held by my friend, an interior designer, where I learned the golden rules of space design through three practical sessions.

カンボジア、中国、フランス、東洋と西洋の多国籍なルーツを持ち、自分にも人にも主体的な人生哲学が、彼女のインテリアコーディネートにも表れているような気がしました。

With roots in Cambodia, China, France, and both Eastern and Western cultures, Thara's proactive life philosophy, both for herself and others, seems to be reflected in her interior coordination.

そんな彼女からの学びを通じて決めたインテリアのテーマが、「Japandi」スタイル。初めて聞いたワードと、何と海外ではトレンドの一つだそうで、びっくり。

Japan（日本）＋Scandinavian（北欧）の造語で、「ミニマリズム」「木の家具」「ベージュの色調」が特徴です。

Through learning from her, I decided on the interior theme of "Japandi" style. I was surprised to hear this term for the first time, and to find out that it is actually a trend overseas.

"Japandi" is a portmanteau of "Japan" and "Scandinavian," characterized by "minimalism," "wooden furniture," and "beige tones."

テーマが決まったら、壁と床のイメージ。和紙、壁紙、塗装など、あらゆる可能性を模索します。

Once the theme was decided, I began envisioning the walls and floors. I explored all possibilities, including washi paper, wallpaper, and paint.

この作業が一番時間がかかります。

何年も一緒に過ごすサロンなので、水に濡れる事もあれば、汚れる事もあるかもしれない。

日々を過ごす中での物の傷や痛みも大切にしながら共に過ごせますように。

最終的に職人さんに塗装をお願いする事に決めました。

This task takes the most time.

Since this is a salon where I'll be spending many years, it might get wet or dirty at times.

I hope to cherish the wear and tear that comes with daily use and spend time together with these elements.

In the end, I decided to ask a craftsman to do the painting.

私の物事の判断基準は「長期的」と「本質」です。

5年、10年後のサロン、私とお客様。時代やトレンドが変わっても残る、本質的な美しさや居心地の良さ。

空間をデザインし、人の行動をデザインする、その為の大切なサロンデザインだと考えています。

My criteria for decision-making are "long-term" and "essence."

I think about the salon, myself, and my clients five to ten years from now. I aim for a timeless beauty and comfort that remain despite changing times and trends.

I believe this salon design is crucial for creating a space that shapes human behavior and design.
